New USCIS Payment Option: Direct Debit via Form G-1650

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced a new and secure way to pay filing fees.
This update reduces processing delays and risks tied to checks and money orders, while aligning with federal payment modernization initiatives.
Key Details
- Now Available: ACH direct debit via Form G-1650.
- Also Accepted: Credit card payments using Form G-1450 (prepaid cards allowed).
- Transition Period: Until October 28, 2025, USCIS will accept checks, money orders, ACH, and credit cards.
- After October 28, 2025: Only ACH debit (Form G-1650) and credit cards (Form G-1450) will be accepted.
- Important Reminder: Applications may be rejected if sufficient funds are not available at the time of transaction.
USCIS has also updated its Policy Manual to reflect ACH debit transactions as an official payment method.

Form G-1650, Authorization for ACH Transactions
Use Form G-1650, Authorization for ACH Transactions, to pay the filing fees for an application, petition, or request that you are filing with USCIS by Automated Clearing House (ACH) transaction. This form allows you to pay fees electronically using bank account information instead of mailing a paper check or money order. USCIS will use the information on your Form G-1650 to debit your bank account directly.
Note: The account must be with a U.S. bank. USCIS cannot accept ACH transactions issued by a foreign bank. There is no additional cost to pay your filing fee by ACH transaction.
